Faculty of Art and Design
The Faculty of Art and Design is one of the two facilities in Finland offering university-level art and design education (B.A.; M.A; Doctorate). The Faculty has five departments and five degree programmes which include audiovisual media culture, graphic design, art education, textile and clothing design and industrial design. The degrees offered by the Faculty areBachelor of Arts (Art and Design), Master of Arts (Art and Design), Doctor of Arts (Art and Design).
Research in the faculty of art and design is characterised by the close interaction of science and art thanks to the faculty’s unique position as part of the multi-faculty university. Research issues cover topics related to the North, the experience industry, service design and digital technology used in art, media and cultural industry processes from innovation to production. The faculty focuses on Northern and Artic issues, in research of art, art education, media and design and in cooperation with the experience industry and tourism.
