Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law at the University of Lapland was established in 1979. There are a total of ca 850 degree students in the Faculty.
The Faculty has its own research series. The research in legal informatics has gained a significant position in the field internationally. Another special area of research is legal linguistics. The Faculty works in close cooperation with courts, other law faculties in Finland and its counterparts internationally.
The Faculty offers a number of courses and lectures in English. There are annually 40-50 incoming exchange students and about the same number of outgoing students.
