Centre for Media Pedagogy

 Centre for Media Pedagogy

The Centre for Media Pedagogy (CMP) was created to provide a site for university-level teaching, research and development in the areas of media education and the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching.

The CMP was founded in 2001 and became part of the University’s Faculty of Education in 2003. In the spring of 2005, it achieved the status of an independent unit within the Faculty, with the University Senate approving the Centre’s rules of procedure in June of that year.

The Centre offers courses carrying university credit in media education and the educational use of ICT, and implements research and development projects in these fields. Another key component of the unit’s work is its co-operation with a wide spectrum of educational institutions, businesses and communities at the local, national and international levels.
