In Finland teachers are required a university degree, and teacher training schools are administratively part of the faculties of education.

The Teacher Training School of the University of Lapland is a primary school with grades 1-7.  There are approximately 430 pupils.

Apart from supervision of teacher trainees, the duties of the teacher training schools are:

  1. research

  2. teaching experiment

  3. in-service training
