The typical tasks for each level are described in the job profile chart.   If jobs at Levels 1 to 4 have a research emphasis, the references to ‘teaching and counselling’ do not apply to the choice of level.

Important difference compared with the previous level: student counselling, more demanding tasks related to teaching and departmental administration, obtaining scholary qualifications, responsibility for one’s own research within a project group.

Important difference compared with the previous level: increasing academic qualifications, more independent teaching and administrative duties, more demanding research and possible responsibility for small projects.

Important difference compared with the previous level: separation of research and teaching, obtaining   academic qualifications, more diverse teaching tasks, the inclusion of professional tasks, being responsible for larger project groups.

Independent teaching. Includes evaluation and development
