Management

  • The University Strategy will be created by the university community.

  • The Strategy will guide the management of the University. The Strategy defines the institutional profile, the focus of its education and research, and its quality objectives.

  • The implementation plan for each agreement period will be drawn up on the basis of the Strategy. This plan defines the evaluation criteria for the quality objectives and the quality-related measures to be taken by the University.

  • The operations of each of the University’s units are agreed on the basis of the implementation plan. Negotiations are conducted in which unit-specific quality measures are defined and the attainment of quality objectives is assessed on the basis of the relevant evaluation criteria.

  • Unit-specific quality measures will be taken into consideration when defining the staff’s personal objectives in annual development discussions. The achievement of the objectives will be assessed in evaluation negotiations.

  • Management will be based on the University’s core values: learning that draws on both the individual and the community, research that is critical and emancipatory and scholarship that is marked by creativity and impact.

  • The prerequisites for good management will include equitable and fair actions in the university community, respect and concern for the individual, and interactive communication.

  • Academic management will be professional at each level of the organisation and it will promote a sound human resources policy. The University will offer support for management.
