Details About the Enclosures
Learning Agreement
In order to fill out the Learning Agreement, please visit the Studies section to find information about the different faculties and the courses offered to exchange students. Individual course details and timetables can be found under each faculty. Please note that the courses and timetables will not be updated until the summer, so students are asked to plan their studies according to the previous academic year's course information. We also recommend taking a look at courses offered by the Language Centre.
In order to make the most of your time abroad it is important to plan your studies carefully. Ask your international coordinator to approve your Learning Agreement and discuss transferring the ECTS credits to your degree. The same courses that have been mentioned in the Learning Agreement should be added to the proposed study plan in the SoleMOVE system.
Letter of Motivation
There is no official form for the Letter of Motivation. The motivation letter should illustrate the applicant’s interests in the chosen courses and why the applicant should be chosen for the exchange. The applicant should also write about the reasons why they are applying to the University of Lapland and what they expect from the exchange period. The motivation letter can also contain information about the benefits that the exchange period can have on the applicant's language skills or future career.
Transcript of Records
All applicants are asked to attach an official copy of their Transcript of Academic Records to their application. The Transcript should be attained from the home university's Registrar's Office and include the courses that the applicant has completed at the home university as well as the grades that the applicant has received.
*All applications will be reviewed by the relevant faculty. Please note that the University of Lapland reserves the right to examine each potential applicants’ eligibility and to determine formal acceptance accordingly.
