Which Publications should be Registered?
All publications written by the staff of the University of Lapland shall be registered into the database. The faculties and units should report also all publications written by people who have got their working facilities and/or supervision from the University of Lapland, even if the authors are not employed by the University of Lapland. If the author has had just the office at the University but no other help, his or her publications should not be reported. The publications written by post-graduate students shall be reported as well if the student has either actively taken part in post-graduate tuition or has had a research grant for 6 months or more.
The publications that should be registered
- monographs
- articles in scientific or professional journals, collections of articles, conference proceedings or magazines
- commentaries and commented cases
Depending on the information value
- personalia (in memoriam, interviews etc.)
- causeries, essays, editorials
- criticism
- objective product descriptions
- photo reportages
The papers that are not included in the database
- handouts and other educational material
- summaries and abstracts
- summaries of events
- photo reportages and product descriptions without significant text information
The works of art and design and computer programs and software produced at the University shall be reported by using the separate form for them.
