Registration of works of art and design and computer programs and software
The faculties and units have to register their works of art and design and computer programs and software for yearly KOTA reports to the Ministry of Education and Culture. The amount and quality of such works have an effect on the funding of the University in the future. The university and the faculties and units can use the information for their annual reports as well.
Information on works of art and design and computer programs and software produced at the University should be reported to the University administration as soon as the work is published, the presentation or exhibition is over or the software is handed over to the user. Anyway, the works of a year should be reported by the 15th of January the next year. When reporting such work, please, fill in the form and print it out from browser to pdf-file and send it by e-mail to Ulla Palovaara.
All works of art and design or computer programs and software by the staff of the University of Lapland shall be registered. The faculties and units should report also all such works created by people who have got their working facilities and/or supervision from the University of Lapland, even if the creators are not employed by the University of Lapland. If the creator has had just the office at the University but no other help, his or her works should not be reported. The works of post-graduate students shall be reported as well if the student has either actively taken part in post-graduate tuition or has had a research grant for 6 months or more.
