The travel grants will be applied for in the SoleGRANT system (excluding Nordplus exchanges which will be paid by the coordinating network partner).

The University of Lapland informs the tax authorities of all the paid grants. The grants are taxable income, if the total amount (after costs) exceeds the annual state grant for artists. (TVL 82.2 §). In 2013, the state grant for artists is 19 728,90 €.  More information on the Tax authority.

Grants for degree students

The first part of the payment:
  • The first part of the grant is dependent on the amount of the grant and the estimated duration of the exchange. It will be paid before the exchange according to the application submitted in the SoleGRANT system.


The second part of the grant payment:

Bilateral, First, Nordlys and Free mover exchanges

  • The second part of the grant is 100 € for Free Mover -exchanges and 200 € for other exchanges. It will be paid after the exchange has been documented accordingly.

Erasmus+

  • The second part of the grant depends on the final duration of the exchange and the total grant will be counted according to the total number of exchange days. Please check the Grant groups and the examples below.

 

ERASMUS+ GRANTS

The Erasmus+ monthly grant is dependent on the destination country and total duration of the exchange (in days). The first part of the grant is 80 % of the total estimated grant. The second part will be paid after the exchange has been reported as requested. The countries are divided into two groups according to the level of living costs. Please see the tables for grant examples.

Grant for group 1 - 280 €/month, daily grant 9,33 €. Programme countries with higher living costs:

Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lichtenstein, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom 

 

Grant for group 2 - 230 €/month, daily grant 7,66 €. Programme countries with medium or lower living costs:

Belgium, Bulgaria Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Greece ,Hungary,  Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

 

Please note that you aren't able to receive both an Erasmus+ grant and any other grant issued by CIMO (Centre for International Mobility).


 

Erasmus+ Students with families

If your child lives with you, you are able to receive additional 200 €/month Erasmus+ support for your exchange. The child can either travel with you or stay in Finland. Please attach the requested confirmation of parenthood in the SoleGRANT system. You will get the official confirmation from registration office, it is called "ote väestötietojärjestelmästä".

FIRST LAPLAND AND FIRST BARENTS

Duration of the exchange 3 – 9 months, the grant is 560 €/ month. The last part of the grant 200 € will be paid when the exchange has been reported accordingly.

 

NORDPLUS

Grant comes directly from the network. Please contact your faculty coordinator.

NORDLYS

Duration of the exchange 3 – 12 months. The amount of the grant varies annually. More information from Teija Sirola.

FREE MOVER (placements and study exchange)

The discretionary grant of the International Relations is dependent on the country of destination and the duration of the exchange. The minimum duration of the exchange or placement is 3 months. To be eligible for a grant, the placement has to be included in the student's studies. The last part of the grant 100 € will be paid when the exchange has been reported accordingly.

ERASMUS+ PLACEMENT

Duration of the placement 3 – 12 months, the grant is based on the daily duration of the placement and the destination country. The first payment of the grant (80 % of the total grant) will be calculated according to the planned duration of the exchange. The second payment will be paid when the exchange has been reported accordingly and the daily duration of the exchange has been confirmed.

Group 1

Country of destination: Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lichtenstein, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom 

Grant amount 370 €/month, daily grant 12,33 €.

 

Group 2

Country of destination: Belgium, Bulgaria Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Greece ,Hungary,  Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

Grant amount 320 €/month, daily grant 10,67 €.
