The University of Lapland organises a special orientation programme for incoming international students at the beginning of each semester (in September and in January). It is an informal and fun way for new students to meet and become familiar with the university, its staff, and the city of Rovaniemi.

ORIENTATION DATES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013–2014

Autumn semester	from Monday 2 September until 6 September 2013
Spring semester	from Tuesday 7 January until 10 January 2014

RECOMMENDED ARRIVAL DATES

It is highly recommended that students arrive at the beginning of each semester in order to participate in the Orientation Programme.

Autumn semester	between Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2013
Spring semester	between Saturday 4 January and Monday 6 January 2014

If you are arriving earlier, you have to arrange the accommodation by yourself. There are several hotels, hostels, and B&B accommodation available. Please see more information at www.visitrovaniemi.fi.
