Designing pedagogy and equipment for virtual teaching, studying and learning of health and welfare
The Centre for Media Pedagogy, part of the Faculty of Education at the University of Lapland, will be implementing a project entitled Medi Peda in cooperation with the Media Department at the University’s Faculty of Art and Design and Murmansk State Pedagogical University. The project, scheduled to run from 1 October to 30 April 2008, is intended to prepare a more comprehensive and long-term research and development effort. Financing has been provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State Provincial Office of Lapland.
Medi Peda will conduct research on teaching, studying and learning processes in the virtual learning environment used in the field of health and welfare at the Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences. The principal aim of the project is to enhance the expertise of the teachers, researchers and students involved by teaching them how to best apply welfare technology. The goal of the Medi Peda project is also develop pedagogical models and equipment for the support of rescue-, acute- and paramedic care teaching, studying and learning processes in the Barents Region.
