MediPro – Simulation-based pedagogy in education and services for first aid
The research project MediPro is investigating technology-supported service processes, especially the use of the TETRA telephone in the social and healthcare sector. The project will develop a pedagogical model to support teaching, studying, and learning processes and technology in the simulation-based learning environment of healthcare. The research will focus on the simulation pedagogy and service design perspectives.
The Centre for Media Pedagogy (CPM) in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lapland and the Service Innovation Corner (SINCO ) of the Faculty of Arts and Design will conduct research in cooperation with Cassidian Finland and Beaconsim(TETRAsim), the hospital districts in Lapland, Northern Ostrobothnia, Western Ostrobothnia, and Middle Ostrobothnia, the Universities of Applied Sciences of Rovaniemi, Kemi-Tornio, and Middle Ostrobothnia and Emergency Services College, which provide education in the social and healthcare sector. International research partners in the project are Stanford University’s H-STAR institute (Human-Sciences and Technologies Advanced Research) and the Center for Immersive and Simulation-based Learning (CISL) unit of the School of Medicine.
The MediPro research project is organized by the MediPro consortium, whose objective is developing work conducted by Cassidian and Beaconsim to expand the TETRA phone communication market area to the healthcare sector. The Centre for Media Pedagogy of the University of Lapland is coordinating the project.
The project is funded by TEKES' Learning Solutions program, hospital district of Lapland and the city of Rovaniemi. The project is part of Cicero Learning network.
