PUBLIC CLOUD SERVICES
In this context a cloud (computing) service means an Internet service provided by a public service provider. These services include file hosting services such as Dropbox, Skydrive and Google Drive; email services such as Hotmail and Gmail; communication services such as Skype; and social networking services such as Facebook.
The personnel of the University of Lapland can use cloud services in their work. The services are accessed through an Internet browser. You are personally responsible for the data stored in the services and for back-up copying. The following pages contain evaluations of cloud services made by users within the academic community.
No support is provided for services that require software installations on workstations.
