Summer School

For the exchange students and other foreign participants:

Theme: From the Free Flow of Information towards Sophisticated Knowledge Rights and Data Protection

Schedule: Daily approximately from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. during the period 27th – 31st of August 2012.
(More exact times will be given at the beginning of the
Summer School.)

Venue: University of Lapland 
             Esko and Asko -auditorium F1011

Organizer: Institute for Law and Informatics (together with the NETSO-project), Faculty of Law at the University of Lapland

Language of Instruction: English (Possibly small parts in Finnish)

Lecturers: Among others Professor Manuel Masseno from Portugal, Professor Andreas Wiebe from Germany, Doctor Gregor Heissl from Austria, Professor Ahti Saarenpää and Rauno Korhonen from the University of Lapland and Postgraduate Students.

NETSO: Details of the NETSO-Research project events will be announced later.


At the Summer School the exchange students and other foreign participants can pass one of these courses:

- Privacy, Data Protection and Data Security OLAW0904,
(5 ECTS cr.) OR
-Law of Personality OAIO0902 (3 ECTS cr.)


-Daily active attendance at the Summer School is compulsory.
-On the last day of the Summer School participation in a written examination is required. Literature will be announced later.
