The dissertation is a monograph or a series of articles to be published as a book for the completion of PhD studies. If the dissertation is series of articles, it consists of 3-4 *published* articles and s.c. summary or introductory article. Still, the complete dissertation will be published, but the publication can also be done electronically. If a person is writing a monograph s/he does not need to publish articles. However, if s/he is delivering a dissertation that consists of articles, those need to be published or accepted for publication.
During the research phase students are not required to publish articles (only the dissertation at the end of the programme), but regarding possibilities after the PhD it is beneficial to start publishing articles, attending international symposia and actively searching for contacts in academic and other relevant communities now

All courses in RUCHIN will be held in English, except if student has specific language skills (Russian or Chinese) and is willing to take the courses provided by RUCHIN partners in Russia.
