Research in rehabilitation science

Research activity in rehabilitation science at The University of Lapland is multidisciplinary and based on of social and health sciences, and behavioral sciences. The research interests in rehabilitation science concern especially the following areas: (1) the status, agency, and empowerment of rehabilitation clients, (2) the efficacy and implementation of rehabilitation, (3) the links between rehabilitation and work, and (4) inequality in rehabilitation.

In recent years the focus of research has been on vocational rehabilitation and other rehabilitation services for people with  with mental health problems, multiply and severely disabled persons, and cultural minorities.
