Research in social work

In social work the research areas relate to wellbeing; social work practices, education, and expertise; clienthood; citizenship; and everyday life. The education and research profile of social work is promoted by research on social law, social gerontology, information technology applications of wellbeing, and Russian research.

Social work researchers and postgraduates study for example the following: The welfare service system; social work in sparsely-populated regions; the third sector and social support; elderly people’s wellbeing and services; child protection; social work education and communication; clienthood, ethics, and values in social work; mental health problems and substance abuse; violent phenomena; and prostitution.
