Research at the department of tourism and business
The research strengths at the Department of Tourism and Business lie predominantly on issues related to the northern regions.
Our research is divided into four fields, basic research, applied research, as well as services and customer oriented research. While our basic research encompasses both dissertations and development projects conducted at the Faculty, our services and customer research can be established in conjunction with other representative units of the university.
The researchers at the University of Lapland work in a multidisciplinary environment which, for example, sees the combining of arts, science and technology with research on marketing and industrial design, and even new media applications.
