Faculty of Art and Design

Founded on 1 August 1990 as Department of Art.
Merged with the Rovaniemi Institute of Industrial Design and Handicrafts 1996.

Now one of the two university-level art and design institutions in Finland to offer education in the field of design up to doctorate degree.

  • FIRST funded by the Finnish Government for co-operation with Russia under which participation in FIRST-ARTSMO network
  • North2north; national funding for cirumpolar co-operation
