International teacher, researcher and staff exchanges for the academic year 2015-2016
International Relations is calling for applications for teacher, researcher and staff exchange funding for the academic year 2015-2016. The deadline for exchange funding applications is September 30, 2015, and the decisions will be made by the end of October. Applications for exchanges taking place in October-November will be considered and processed on a case-by-case basis.
The University of Lapland offers various opportunities for teacher exchanges at partner universities abroad. International teacher exchanges support the development of teaching and its content, improve the skills needed in international environments, and also increase the understanding of the different approaches to the subject in another country. Teacher exchanges also support the international networking of the faculty, and contribute to the planning of joint international education and research collaboration projects.
The international mobility of teachers and researchers is one of the criteria with a set target in the performance agreement between the university and the Ministry of Education and Culture. In the Ministry’s data collection (KOTA), information is collected for all exchanges and visits lasting at least one week (five work days, including two travel days).
In the academic year 2015-2016 teacher exchanges are directed especially towards European and nearby Russian destinations, and researcher exchanges to European destinations (Erasmus+). More information on the exchange partners of the university and on how to apply are available on the International Relations’ webpages (International Relations / For Staff).
The university funds teacher and staff exchanges partly through different programmes and networks (e.g. Erasmus+, First and Nordplus). In addition, International Relations has resources to cover some exchange costs.
The International Coordinators in the Faculties can also assist you in planning your exchange.
