PLACEMENT TESTS
Swedish
Voluntary placement tests in Swedish are arranged on the Language Centre’s make-up exam days, and the registration procedure is the same as that of a make-up exam. A student may be exempted only from mandatory basic courses in Swedish, that is, not from optional or master-phase courses.
The placement test consists of two parts: a written section and an oral skills section. If a student’s grade is excellent (80% of the tasks correct) in the written part, the student’s oral skills are tested as well. Those with an excellent grade in both parts will receive markings of completed oral and written courses in Swedish.
The placement test is also used for testing occupation-oriented language skills, and it is therefore intended mainly for students who have developed their Swedish skills after high school. The student may take the test only once.
