The Artwalk in University of Lapland introduces the artworks placed in the public places in the university campus. The Artwalk brings forth the art with new signs, map and website all linked together with QR -codes for easy access. Besides the information available for visitors independently to explore, there are also guided tours and workshops available as part of the artwalk.

The aim of the project has been to highlight the contemporary art collections in the university and make them available to visit for the university students, staff, visitors, tourists and citizens of Rovaniemi. The project is part of the collaboration of the university and the Kari Huhtamo Art Foundation.

The Artwalk will be published as part of the university anniversary and the audience, students and staff have possibility to take part on the guided artwalks and workshop or explore the route with the map.

Guided Artwalks

Guided artwalks (in Finnish) are arranged on Tuesday 1 March at 4 pm and on Wednesday 2 March at 1 pm starting from Agora in the faculty of Art and Design.

Tours are free and open for 20 participants each and require registration in advance in.

Artwalk workshops: Moving sculptures

Open non stop -workshops connected to artwalk are arranged on Tuesday 1 March from 3 pm to 6 pm in the university main lobby and on Wednesday 2 March from 1 pm to 4 pm in the faculty of Art and Design lobby (Agora, F- building). Workshops welcome everyone to participate on building mobile moving sculptures and instruction is available in Finnish and in English.
