Thematic studies 20 ECTS
Our thematic doctoral programmes each include a set of thematic studies (20 study credits). Thematic studies will strengthen your academic education and expertise by giving you substantial multidisciplinary know-how that can make your expertise stand out. Thematic studies in your doctoral degree are demonstrable and can be an asset in career planning.
The doctoral programme Northern cultures and natural resource politics consists of four study modules: Sustainable natural resource policy; Northern Cultural Studies; Perception, interpretation and representation of Environment; The legitimacy and justice of natural resource governance. Courses for these study modules are organised annually. Doctoral researchers should take courses from each modules to be included in their doctoral study plan. In addition to the modules, it is possible to participate in the Pan-Arctic Extractive Industries PhD programme organised by the UArctic Thematic Network.
