Are you searching for a publisher for your manuscript? We publish original and high-quality scientific, art and non-fiction titles. Our editorial board discusses the manuscripts, provides constructive feedback on them, and the best of them get to go on in the publication process.
Our main task is to record Arctic and northern research and culture. We are therefore interested in all manuscripts and book ideas in the fields of jurisprudence, social sciences, education, art and design that suit these themes.
How to proceed
You can send us a finished manuscript or a detailed and systematic book idea. Please complete the basic information form (.rtf) for book proposals (where you will also find further instructions for your manuscript) and enclose it to your manuscript. Please send your manuscript and cover letter to lup [ at ] ulapland.fi.
All information you provide us with will be handled confidentially.
Our editorial board issues publishing decisions three times a year: in January, April and September on the second Monday of the month. The board has four weeks to go through the book proposals, so you should take the following schedule into consideration when submitting your work.
- Manuscript to LUP by 11 Mar. 2018 -> Decision issued on 9 Apr. 2018 at the earliest
- Manuscript to LUP by 12 Aug. 2018 -> Decision issued on 10 Sept. 2018 at the earliest
- Manuscript to LUP by 16 Dec. 2018 -> Decision issued on 14 Jan. 2019 at the earliest
- Manuscript to LUP by 17 Mar. 2019 -> Decision issued on 15 Apr 2019 at the earliest
Our editorial board selects the manuscripts that proceed in the publishing process. After being approved by the board, all scientific manuscripts go through our peer review process. A publishing contract can be signed after you have revised your work on the basis of the reviewer feedback.
