Medi Peda II
New Pedagogy and New Tools for Designing and Implementing Teaching, Studying and Learning Processes in Virtual Learning Environments
The Centre for Media Pedagogy, part of the Faculty of Education at the University of Lapland , will be implementing a project entitled Medi Peda II. The project is intended to prepare a more comprehensive and long-term research and development effort. The research and development project, MediPeda III, has been established to answer the needs of the future by developing pedagogical model, user-centred design methods and a value creation model for simulated and virtual learning environments for health care. Also, the comparative research between simulation-centres will be conducted. Moreover, the important objective of the MediPeda III project is to execute international researcher exchange between University of Lapland , Finland and Stanford University , USA . The MediPeda III project will yield new information for the ongoing development of simulation-based pedagogy and for similar learning environments in the future, as well as to help commercialize and internationalize them. The MediPeda III project entails transdisciplinary and international research work on education, media science, technology and medical research.
Aim of this preliminary preparation project is to find international as well as national research partners and prepare project application to Tekes. Duration of the second preliminary project is from 1 May 2008 to 30 September 2008. Project financing has been provided by the Tekes (The Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation).
