Time and weather in Finland
Finland ’s time zone is GMT + 2 hours. In July the summer is at its best in Finland . Around midsummer in Northern Finland the sun does not set for several weeks. The "nightless night" lasts in Rovaniemi for one month, beginning on June 6th and ending on July 7th. The hotel rooms are equipped with blackout curtains.
Weather forecast is difficult. While the average July temperature in Rovaniemi is +17 degree centigrade, it may vary from +10 to +25 degrees. You will not have to worry about mosquitoes. They do not really appear in the town areas, and if you go into the forest, it is sufficient to wear long sleeves and trousers. The food shops and service stations sell very effective mosquito repellents.
Participants who require a visa should contact Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses which will provide a letter of invitation for visa purposes. The invitation is intended to help participants to obtain a visa and does not represent a commitment by the organizer to provide any financial support. The decision to grant a visa belongs to the Embassy/Consulate.
