AUDIT 2021 is coming

Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC) conducts an audit of the University of Lapland. A two-day audit visit at the University of Lapland is carried out 1-2 December 2021.

The audit is conducted by the following audit team selected by Higher Education Evaluation Committee

Liisa Postareff, researcher, principal lecturer, Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK)
Timo Lappi, CEO, The Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa
Elisa Rauma, student, Aalto University.

The audit process has been started with benchlearning in spring 2020. According to the principles of enhancement-led evaluation, the purpose of benchlearning is to receive feedback on the own organization’s activities and to learn from the good practices of another organization. The benchlearning partner of the University of Lapland is University of Helsinki and the benchlearning target is student feedback system.

After passing the audit, the higher education institution (HEI) will receive an audit certificate and FINEEC’s quality label. The quality label is valid for six years from the decision of the Higher Education Evaluation Committee.

FINEEC’s 2018–2024 audit model for higher education institutions assesses the functionality and effectiveness of the quality systems of higher education institutions. The focus of the audit is on the procedures used by the higher education institution to maintain and enhance the quality of its activities.

The evaluation areas
1. HEI creates competence
2. HEI promotes impact and renewal
3. HEI enhances quality and well-being
4. HEI as a learning organization

The workgroups have been working on the self-assessment reports in spring and autumn 2020. The quality management documentation has been updated and quality handbooks will be replaced with one quality management documentation. The self-assessment reports and the quality management documentation can be found on a digital platform (qualitywiki coming soon in English). You can already find laatuwiki in Finnish. The websites are under construction and updating actively at the moment. They will be ready in beginning of June
