Ville Jakkula appointed as Chair of FINELC

14.3.2019

Ville Jakkula, Director of Language Centre, has been appointed to chair the network of Finnish university language centres (FINELC) during the years 2019 and 2020.

The language centres or corresponding units of all Finnish universities belong to this network. The purpose of the network is to support, develop, and promote the teaching of languages, cultures, and communication aimed at university students. Its primary goals at the moment are to develop research-based teaching and learning and to promote internationalisation.

Every other year FINELC organises the Language Centre Days, a national conference for language and communication experts. The network is also active and strong in CercleS, the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education.
