Welcome to the annual HKTP-conference, the Conference on Administrative and Local Government Studies 2024!

This year Finnish Association for Administrative Studies’ (Hallinnon tutkimuksen seura) and Focus Localis’ eighth joint conference is arranged at University of Lapland in Rovaniemi. The conference will be held on November 13.-15. with the theme Vitality from the area – New forms of community. 

Wednesday, November 13th

The conference starts with the post-graduate students’ pre-conference. The pre-conference will take place at the University of Lapland at 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. See further information on Pre-Conference page.

Most of the programme at the HKTP-conference is held in Finnish.

Registration

The event will be held in person at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, and remote participation is not possible. All participants and presenters must register in advance. The participation fee also applies to workshop leaders and participants; please select "participant" during registration. Registration is open until October 31, 2024. The participation fee includes the Science Days program, distributed materials, and coffee service. Lunch is self-financed.

Payment of the Participation Fee

The participation fees are exempt from VAT. Choose your payment method on the registration form. The options are:

• Online bank payment (Paytrail)
• Credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Visa Electron/American Express - Paytrail)
• Invoice

If you choose the invoice option, you must specify the billing address separately in the relevant section of the form. A billing surcharge of €10 is added to all invoices. A request for group invoicing can be sent via email to the congress service (congress(at)ulapland.fi) – please include the billing address, any reference details, and the names of the persons to be invoiced.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing to the congress service (congress(at)ulapland.fi) by October 31, 2024. After this date, fees are non-refundable. A processing fee of €30 will be deducted from all refunded participation fees.

Accommodation Reservations

The organizers have reserved a room block for participants at Santa's Hotel Santa Claus in the city center. The block is subject to availability, so we recommend taking into account the start of the winter travel season and booking accommodations well in advance. Cancellations are free of charge up to 3 weeks before arrival.

Booking and Payment Terms:

• Individual reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 3 weeks before arrival, after which a 100% cancellation fee applies.
• Reservations will be charged after the free cancellation period ends via a payment link sent to the customer’s email.
• Reservations are subject to general availability, so early booking is recommended.

The 2024 the Conference on Administrative and Local Government Studies working groups bring together groups that have been requested in previous years.
