The Law, Technology and Design Thinking (LTDT) and the Welfare Law research groups of the University of Lapland will be organising an online seminar titled “Regulation of AI in the medical sector” on the 26th January 2021 between 1 PM and 4 PM Finnish time.
Description:
The ‘Regulation of AI in the medical sector’ seminar will discuss key legal and ethical issues that have arisen as a result of the adoption of AI in the health and medical services sector. The seminar will address the features and characteristics of AI, how it is being deployed in the provision of medical services and how it affects the rights and freedoms of various participants in the medical sector. The seminar seeks to draw more attention to the effects of the use of AI in the medical sector with the objective of achieving its lawful deployment.
Students can gain 1 ECTS (ONVAL9999 or OTMVAL9999) by attending the entire seminar and writing a 4–5 pages learning diary on some of the key lessons learned. Details and reading suggestions are included in the attached file.
