Alina Lehtonen is a PhD student and university teacher at the University of Lapland, Faculty of Law, and within her research, Lehtonen is interested in environmental protection legislation, water regulation and waste regulation combined to resource efficiency and circular economy. Sustainable development issues in a larger scale are as well in the field of interest in her research.
Lehtonen has done research as well in the fields of industrial waste streams and bioeconomy. In addition to her PhD studies in the field of law, Lehtonen is studying environmental engineering at the University of Oulu, Faculty of Technology. Lehtonen has specialized in the industrial environmental engineering.
Alina Lehtonen has taught environmental law to the law students at the Faculty of Law in the University of Lapland several years. She has been the second supervisor in several master's thesis in procedural law and in environmental law at the Faculty of Law. At the moment, she is working with the development of the environmental law teaching and teaching co-operation.
