Dr. Ilari Hovila is senior lecturer of environmental law and vice-dean for education. He has specialised in land use and planning law and general doctrines of environmental law. He has recently studied e.g. legal instruments for planning large-scale environmental project, municipal land use autonomy and land use of responsible tourism. Other main field of his research is legal status of everyman´s right and use of common land. Methodologically his approach is doctrinal legal analysis, regulatory theory and comparative analysis.
