Collection of Finnish State Art Commission
Since 1956, the Finnish State Art Commission has purchased works of art for the public spaces of the state. These works adorn over 600 destinations in Finland and abroad. About fifty pieces from the collection are displayed in the indoor and outdoor facilities of our university.
The commission acquires artworks by organising competitions, ordering, and purchasing them at galleries or directly from the artists. The works are placed in public places, in the everyday environment of ordinary people, to reach the widest audience possible.
