BIP - Populism and the Foreign Policy of Central and Eastern European Countries in an Era of Polycrisis - 02-06-06.06.2025 - MU Prague, Czechia

The Center for Security Studies is delighted to invite PhD candidates to a summer school focusing on how populism shapes the foreign and security policies of Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries amid complex global crises.

Participants will explore three core areas:

i) the themes and narratives drivingpopulist foreign and security policy

ii) the means of communication through which these narratives are conveyed, and

iii) their specific manifestations acrosub-regions and countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

The program fostersncritical engagement with these topics through a blend of seminars, practical training, and collaborative research opportunities, culminating in a final conference a potential publication in CEJISS (Central European Journal of International and Security Studies).

MCI Summer Program - 02.06-27.06-2025 - Management Center Innsbruck, Austria

Summer School on the Law, Ethics and Policy of AI - 30.6-9.7.2025 - KU LEUVEN, Belgium
Dear all,

The 5th edition of the KU Leuven Summer School on the Law, Ethics and Policy of AI will take place in Leuven from 30 June to 9 July 2025.

The aim of the Summer School is to bring together a multidisciplinary group of participants and provide them with an overview of the various legal, ethical and policy-related issues around AI and algorithm-driven processes more broadly. The lectures will be provided by academics, policy-makers from European and international institutions, and practitioners.

The Summer School's targeted audience consists of PhD researchers as well as more senior researchers and lecturers - whether they have a scientific, legal, philosophical, sociological or other background - interested in broadening their understanding of AI's impact on society. It is also open to other participants, including civil servants, members of civil society organisations, practitioners and professionals.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance with an equivalence of 3 ECTS credits. Moreover, those interested will have the opportunity to present their AI-related research during a research presentation session.

Applications for the programme will run from 10 February to 17 March 2025.

International Summer School - 30.06-25.07.2025 - University of Oslo, Norway
For summer 2025, the University of Oslo is pleased to offer six undergraduate courses, and three graduate courses. The 4-week ISS courses will begin on Monday, June 30, while the 6-week Norwegian language courses start on June 23.

Please note the application deadline: March 1. Students earn 10-20 ECTS per summer course at ISS.

Aarhus Summer University - 02.07-08.08.2025 - University of Aarhus, Denmark

Sapporo University Summer Programme - 07.07-19.07.2025 - Sapporo University, Japan

Sapporo University will offer a 13 day short term program to study Japanese language and culture this summer . This program consists of Japanese culture experience, off campus learning, and interact with our students along with Japanese language study. Nordic Centre Summer Course Business and Innovation - 11-07-15.07.2025 - Fudan University, China

The Nordic Centre summer course Business and Innovation in China will again be held in Shanghai this year, taking place from July 11 to July 25, 2025.

University of Lapland has three places for the course.

The deadline for submitting chosen candidates to the Nordic Centre is March 10. Students are to submit their applications to the international offices before this deadline. Admissions will be confirmed by March 31.

Brazilian Seminar Summer program - 17.07-1.08.2025 - Pontifícia Universidade do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Brazilian Seminars developed by PUC-Rio is an interdisciplinary program meant to give a broad perspective of Brazilian issues which are currently in the global scenario.

It is aimed at students, scholars, professionals and everyone else who is interested in the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about Brazil.

The technical visits are offered to promote the encounter of the academic theory with the real life of companies and entrepreneurs located in Rio. Participants have the chance to interact with people in management positions providing significant insights about doing business in Brazil.

Program structure:
The program's structure will be the same is the previous years: 52 class-hours offered through 18 lectures on different topics + 8h dedicated to technical visits + a great range of cultural and social activities. It is also possible to combine the program with 20h or 40h of Portuguese language - offered before and after the Brazilian seminars program itself.
