Education

In this degree programme students get to observe the phenomena of education from several viewpoints. It is possible to major in Education, Media Education or Adult Education. You can complete the whole degree programme only in Finnish.

Primary Teacher Training

The Primary Teacher Training will prepare students for careers in education and didactics. On graduation they will receive qualifications for working independently as teachers. It is also possible to complete an outdoor learning-oriented degree. You can complete the whole degree programme only in Finnish.

Minor subjects

Free choice of minor

At our university you are free to choose your minor from

  • the minor subjects offered by the faculties
  • the courses and programmes offered by the Open University and the Summer University
  • the modules offered at the Language Centre
  • JOO studies (Flexible right to study) at the University of Oulu

Major subject as a minor

Minor studies comprise the basic and subject studies in a subject. This means that the majors offered in the faculties provide courses from which students in different majors can put together minors.

Choosing a minor

Choosing a minor plays a significant role for your degree and your future career. When choosing a minor, you should pay attention to the employment opportunities as well as your interests. Be creative when combining minors and select studies that support your goals.

At our faculty you can complete e.g. the following minor study modules in English:

GKAS3000 Global Education
MEDU2000 Bridging Studies in Media Education

Our other minor subjects offer individual courses in English (see further information below).
