The University of Lapland's main campus is situated about 2,5 kilometers south of Rovaniemi city centre. In addition, some of our units – the Arctic Centre operating in the Arktikum Science Center and museum building; the Teacher Training School; and the university's continuing education and congress services – are located in and around the city centre.
Visitors to the main campus and the other campus locations have the opportunity to discover the nature and cultures of the Arctic through science-based and other exhibitions and events, a variety of artworks created by our students and staff, the university's permanent art collections on display on campus, as well as Nordic design. You can also explore the Lapland University Consortium Library or grab a bite to eat in one of our on-campus restaurants.
Rovaniemi is easily accessible by road, rail, and air. In the city centre, distances are short, and getting around by foot, by bike or by public transportation is quick and easy.
The University of Lapland also rents its facilities to clients outside the university. The university has a variety of spaces available for rent: auditoriums, lecture halls, as well as seminar and meeting rooms in a variety of sizes with a seating capacity ranging from 10 to 326 guests.
