Degree programmes

Administrative Sciences and Management

In the degree programme you can major in Administrative Sciences, Management or Leadership Psychology. The subjects share an interest in the management of organisations and work communities.

Please note that the degree programme is offered in Finnish.

Tourism Research

Tourism Research is a one-of-a-kind subject in Finland, as you can take it at the university level only at our university.

The English-taught Master’s Degree Programme TourCIM combines tourism research and cultural production with international business and administration.

Another English-taught Master’s Degree programme in tourism, Northern Tourism, focuses on developing responsible tourism futures and builds knowledge on the challenges facing the northern and Arctic regions.

Political Sciences and Sociology

Studies in Political Sciences incorporate the different disciplinary approaches of political sciences and international relations.

Sociology introduces you to the research and theories of social groups, institutions and interaction.

Social Work

Studies in Social Work involve research, instruction and hands-on social work, as well as their interaction with each other.

Major subject as a minor

Minor studies comprise the basic and subject studies in a subject. This means that the majors offered in the faculties provide courses from which students in different majors can put together minors.

Choosing a minor

Choosing a minor plays a significant role for your degree and your future career. When choosing a minor, you should pay attention to the employment opportunities as well as your interests. Be creative when combining minors and select studies that support your goals.

Methodology studies

All degree programmes at our university include methodology studies, which cover the topics of scientific information retrieval, philosophy of science and research methodology. You will continue to develop the skills you have acquired in the methodology studies in the course of your major studies.

Our multidisciplinary teaching will provide you with the competence to search, process and analyse data, support for conducting research and readiness to work in expert tasks. You will also learn to understand the research process and read other people's research work analytically.
