I work as professor of Textile Art and Design at the Faculty of Art and Design of the University of Lapland. In my doctoral dissertation I examined the interior design textiles of Marjatta Metsovaara and her career in the 1950s and 1960s.
I specialise in Jacquard weaves. I have participated in several multinational art textile workshops, where we have produced woven textures and structures. As a result of the dialogue between different cultures and artists, textiles become multi-layered.
