I graduated from the Finnish Academy in 1976 as a graphic designer. I have had several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group expositions in Finland and abroad. I have been awarded with several prizes in various graphic art exhibitions, and I received the reward of the Artists’ Association of Finland in 1988.
My public artworks include the pieces located in the Church of Kaakkuri and Madetoja underpass in Oulu, as well as the almost-finished artworks for the facilities of University of Applied Sciences of Oulu. My work is represented in many well-known collections, including those of Ateneum, Parliament and the Wihuri Foundation.
I like applying the aquatint technique in my graphic art. In the last few years I have started to focus more on using wood, concrete and iron in my works. In my concrete works I prefer using a special casting process where I dig the mould for the figure into the ground.
