In my work as a visual artist, I address questions relating to the north, multiculturalism, and community, as well as environmental issues such as relationship between nature and human, and environmental responsibility, policy and ethics. I make use of old objects and textiles, recycled and natural materials, recordings and interviews.
I knit and crochet, collect and assemble, talk to people and record these conversations. I also reflect on the social and cultural sustainability of the used materials and methods. In my installations I apply handiwork traditions. My works are space and site-specific both in gallery and outdoor exhibitions. I included artistic elements in my doctoral dissertation, where I examined an artist’s involvement in discussions about environmental conflicts.
