The programme includes six languages: Chinese, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Scandinavian languages.
The Language Centre organizes informal Café Lingua meetings for those
interested in different languages and cultures. The idea is to bring
together native speakers and people who study foreign languages or are
otherwise interested in them.
Café Lingua offers an opportunity
to chit chat in Chinese, German, Italian, Russian, Scandinavian
languages, or Spanish while enjoying a nice cup of coffee. You can
develop your language and communication skills while having an informal,
relaxed conversation.
Café Lingua meetings in the spring will be organized as follows:
• Scandinavian languages on Tuesdays at 16–17: January 28, February 11, February 25, March 11, March 25, April 8, April 22
• German on Tuesdays at 17–18: January 28, February 11, February 25, March 11, March 25, April 8, April 22

All Café Lingua meetings take place in Café Linna (address: Lordi Square, Koskikatu 14–16, Rovaniemi).
All
interested in languages and cultures – such as Finnish and
international students, locals, tourists and tourism operators – are
warmly welcome to join. There is only one rule in Café Lingua: please
speak only in the language of that particular gathering you are
attending. This way, all attendees have an equal opportunity to develop
their language skills and learn.
