The National Maritime Museum in Busan, Republic of Korea, currently holds the “Further into the Arctic” exhibition in cooperation with the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland and the Embassy of Finland in Seoul. The exhibition runs until March 5th, 2017.
Arctic Centre collection of old Arctic maps is visible in Busan, together with a number of items from the Arktikum Science Centre such as traditional outfits and hunting tools. The Korean National Maritime Museum is one of the largest museums in Korea.
The exhibition exchange is one of the results of cooperation between the Arctic Centre and Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), also located in Busan, next to the Maritime Museum. Another current concrete result of the cooperation is the aurora camera sending pictures of Northern lights in Rovaniemi to KMI in Korea.
