The Arctic Yearbook 2014, themed "Human Capital in the North", was released in the Arctic Circle Assembly on Friday 31 October. The editor of the Yearbook is Professor Lassi Heininen from the University of Lapland.
The Arctic Yearbook 2014, in total 590 pages, consists of 23 scientific
articles, dealing with human capital in the North, and how it can be
built, regional economy, and geopolitics. In addition, the Yearbook includes 17 short
commentaries, eight draft research papers, and a cross-section of the
2014 highlights.

The
Arctic Yearbook is published by the joint thematic network on
geopolitics and security of the Northern Research Forum and the
University of the Arctic. As the name suggests, the Yearbook is an
annually published international and interdisciplinary peer-reviewed
online publication. The book is meant for all those interested in the
topic: researchers, students, entrepreneurs, politicians, and the
general public.
