The Language Centre is looking for interested students to test online learning materials on Dutch, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, and Portuguese languages and cultures.
As of January 2011, the University of
Lapland unit of the LUC Language Centre has been part of a two-year,
EU-funded project that produces web-based study material on less widely
used languages and their cultures within the EU region. The project is
called Electronically Learning Other Cultures and Languages by Virtual
Travelling (E-LOCAL).
Now it’s time to start testing the online
learning materials. Students, who are interested in learning more about
languages and cultures by testing the E-LOCAL materials, please raise
your hands. We have a selection of languages for you to choose from:
Dutch, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, and Portuguese. The learning
materials are for beginners. Thus, no previous studies are required.
You
can sign up by e-mailing to annukka.jaakola (at) ulapland.fi. In your
e-mail, please state your name, year of birth, and the faculty you study
in. Remember to state the language you’re interested in (choice 1,
choice 2). We would like to interview those willing to join the pilot
testing (about 15 minutes interview / person). Please suggest a suitable
interview day and time for you, preferably before noon from Monday to
Friday. The interviews will take place at the Language Centre
(Yliopistonkatu 8, E-wing, 2nd floor).
