The Café Lingua meetings start again this week. Now the programme includes also Scandinavian languages.
University
of Lapland, together with the Lapland University Consortium, organizes
informal Café Lingua meetings for those interested in German, Russian,
Scandinavian and Spanish languages and cultures. The idea is to bring
together native speakers and people who study foreign languages or are
otherwise interested in them.
Café Lingua meetings offer an
excellent opportunity for creating multilingual and multicultural
evenings right in the centre of Rovaniemi. The casual atmosphere of Café
Lingua allows people to chit chat in German, Russian, Spanish or
Scandinavian languages while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.
Café Lingua meetings will be organized as follows:
- Russian every other Tuesday at 17–18: 17 January, 31 January and 14 February
- Spanish every other Wednesday at 16–17: 18 January, 1 February and 15 February
- Scandinavian languages every other Tuesday at 16–17: 24 January, 7 February and 21 February
- German every other Wednesday at 17–18: 25 January, 8 February and 22 February
All Café Lingua meetings take place at Café Linna (address: Koskikatu 14–16, Rovaniemi).
All
interested in languages and cultures – such as Finnish and
international students, locals, tourists and tourism operators – are
warmly welcome to join.
