A closer connection between young researchers and strategic research is important, as it will strengthen vital research expertise at ULapland. When distributing the funds, priority is given to doctoral students and post doc researchers, whose research focuses on strategic research areas and publishing on forum levels 1–3, or who are preparing a research project that supports strategic research at ULapland. Funding is given for 2–3 months. The salary in each position is defined according to the job demands level.

The application should contain the following information:

• the current position of the applicant
• the name of the doctoral dissertation or research work
• a description of the doctoral dissertation or research work and its relevance to strategic research at ULapland (max. two A4 sheets)
• an estimated time of completion
• supervisor(s) of the doctoral dissertation
• the forum level of the publication made from a post doc research work
