Call for applications: Funding for the preparation of strategic research projects at ULapland
4.4.2013
The University of Lapland is strengthening its strategic activities. Therefore, a sum of 50,000 euros has been allocated for the preparation work of research projects in the strategic profile areas of ULapland. In practice, these projects encompass projects funded by TEKES – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, the Academy of Finland, or the European Union.
Received funding for the preparation work of a research project requires an improved effort in writing research plans and project applications. The funding is primarily aimed at projects that not only support the ULapland strategy but also further collaboration between the units and disciplines of ULapland; one aim of strategic research activities is to create and develop interdisciplinary research groups. When distributing the funds, attention is paid to prospects of internationalisation and national networking in the projects.
A sum that covers labour costs for two months is given for the preparation of national research projects. For the preparation of international projects, the financial support is for three months. The salary in each position is defined according to the job demands level.
The application should contain the following information:
• the person writing the project application
• the current position of this person
• the responsible leader of the project
• the name of the project
• a short description of the research project and its relevance to strategic research at ULapland (max. two A4 sheets)
• the potential partners of collaboration
• the potential financier
The applications are to be addressed to Vice Rector Minna Uotila and delivered to the University Registry by 8 May 2013.
