The University of Lapland is hosting the national gender studies and cultural studies conferences on November 28–30, 2013.
The conference, under the theme Truths and tales, discusses the use and politics of knowledge, as well as alternative ways of knowing. The keynote speakers of the conference are Terry Eagleton, Diana Mulinari, Stephanie Lawler, Tiina Rosenberg, and Tuija Saresma.
The conference organizers are welcoming paper proposals to the conference workshops. Interested participants may submit abstracts to the workshop chairs until September 30. Detailed information about the workshops and the contact information for the chairs can be found on the
conference website.
The main organizers of the conference are the Unit for Gender Studies and the researchers of cultural studies at the University of Lapland in collaboration with the Association for Women's Studies in Finland and the Society for Cultural Studies in Finland.
