The EU Arctic Forum 2025 will take place in Levi, Kittilä on 26–27 June, right after Midsummer. For the first time ever, the European Union’s key policy forum on Arctic affairs will be hosted in Lapland, Finland. The Forum is expected to offer insights into the implementation of the EU’s Arctic Strategy and provide a platform for high-level dialogue on the future of the EU’s Arctic engagement in today’s geopolitical climate.
Organized by the European Commission, the event is held in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland’s REBOUND project, the Arctic Working Group of the Baltic Sea Commission, the Municipality of Kittilä, and the EUROPE DIRECT information point of the Regional Council of Lapland.
Forum Themes
The programme will cover critical themes such as:
- the impacts of climate change in the Arctic
- the role of Indigenous Peoples in decision-making
- the importance of the youth voice in EU Arctic policy and
